About Me
I graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) in 2011. Since then I have been working in upper primary classrooms in Western Australia. Previous to that, I worked as an Education Assistant for four years. This was an amazing experience that I learnt so much from whilst I was completing my teaching degree.
In 2014 I took on the role of Exemplary Educator of ICT with the Catholic Education Office of WA. This allowed me to run professional development for teachers in the area of ICT. I am a foundation member of the TeachMeet WA crew. TMWA events are for educators who are keen to connect, collaborate and inspire each other through teacher driven professional development.
I am currently working for the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia as a Digital Learning Consultant within the Teaching and Learning Directorate. Within this role I facilitate professional development for teachers and school staff, mentor teachers to assist in embedding digital learning tools and strong pedagogy into the classroom, organise and facilitate the Key Teacher of Digital Learning and Technologies modules and organise the Exemplary Educator program across Teaching and Learning.
I live in Perth with my husband Simon and our daughter, Alonza Serafina. We own a Physiotherapy business (Forte Physiotherapy) which keeps us extremely busy. I also have two sisters and a brother who are currently exploring the world and achieving their goals.
I love teaching and believe that it is my vocation. I enjoy working in a contemporary learning space where I encourage students to move around often. I am also very interested in problem based learning (see my blog for more details on these).
